On April 12, 2017 the City of Tacoma Infrastructure, Planning & Sustainability Committee will consider whether the nomination to place the Cushman Substation on the Tacoma Register of Historic Places should move forward to the full City Council for approval.

The North End Neighborhood Council has provided a statement of support of the effort to place the Cushman Substation and surrounding substation properties on the Tacoma Register of Historic Places (view the letter of support).
On February 22, 2017, the Landmarks Preservation Commission unanimously recommended that the Cushman Substation be added to the Tacoma Register of Historic Places.
