It’s Tree Planting Time!

Sign Our Tree Petition to Increase Our Tree Canopy
Tonight, please consider signing our Tacoma Urban Forest Friends Tree Petition.
At 20%, Tacoma has the lowest tree canopy of any city in the Puget Sound area! Please sign the petition to
urge the Tacoma City Council to preserve and extend our tree canopy to reach our City’s goal of 30% by 2030.

environmental health”. They sponsor a fun variety of tree events including tree planting and plant giveaways, a
variety of docent lead neighborhood tree walks and interesting webinars. Please go to their calendar of events

New Trees in the Proctor District

On Green Tacoma Day in October, 14 wonderful new trees were planted in the Proctor area. Wheelock
Library received Pin Oaks and Red Oaks, the Masonic Building received new trees and native plants and
Safeway received 5 new trees. This project was sponsored by the Proctor Neighborhood Planning Project.
We’re looking forward to seeing more new trees planted in the coming weeks.
