NENC seeks residents to help with ‘Paint Tacoma-Pierce Beautiful’ project

NENC is seeking North End residents to help form a volunteer crew to work on one of the pre-approved Paint Tacoma Beautiful homes. Contact Susan Ryan for more information or to join the crew!

Crews are typically made up of 10-15 people. We are looking for a variety of people including those who don’t mind getting dirty/painty, who enjoy working in a team, and some who can work on ladders.  Any ages are welcome; we just ask for adult supervision for those under 15.

Volunteers work in shifts of 3-8 hours. It generally takes 3-4 shifts to get a home prepped and painted, often with a few days’ break between different parts of the job to allow for drying. Work out your own schedule, on weekdays, evenings or weekends.

Founded in 1985, Paint Tacoma-Pierce Beautiful (PTPB) organizes volunteer crews each summer to paint the exteriors of homes of low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners in Tacoma and other communities throughout Pierce County.  Since 1985, nearly 2,200 houses have been painted. In 2017, they plan to paint 27 more!

To join the North End Neighborhood Council-sponsored group, contact Susan Ryan.
