Tacoma Public Schools – Proposition 1 would invest in our neighborhood schools, providing basic improvements across the school district and replacing and renovating 11 buildings. It would also provide improved environments for teaching and learning, and spaces for expanded career and technical education.

Elliott Barnett – Senior Planner, City of Tacoma
The City of Tacoma is starting an engagement process for the public comment

period now that the Home In Tacoma package is authorized for release and the public

hearing date is set for March 6, 2024.

Plans to convert Tacoma church into affordable housing sparks controversy

 

Andrew Cain – Amici House LLC

The Amici House LLC has plans to renovate the former Peace Assembly Church in
Tacoma’s Proctor Neighborhood into affordable community living spaces for young adults starting out on their own.

NOTE: Our next meeting will be Monday, March 4 when we will have Pastor Susan Boegli explain PROJECT MASON and the City of Tacoma’s Lauren Hoogkamer will give an update on the Proctor Neighborhood Plan and introduce the consultant OTAK who are being engaged to seek community input for the redevelopment of the Cushman and Adams Substations.
