Home in Tacoma Update

The City of Tacoma has released its Year One review of the Home in Tacoma initiative, revealing significant growth in housing development applications and a broader diversity of housing options for residents within areas previously zoned exclusively for single-family homes.  Adopted as a cornerstone of the City’s Affordable Housing Action Strategy, Home in Tacoma replaced citywide single-family zoning with flexible Urban Residential zones (UR-1, UR-2, and UR-3) designed to accommodate smaller, more affordable housing types.

Our next meeting will be on Monday August 3 when the meeting topic will be Tree Canopy.  We will also have regular Liaison, City and Council Member reports and before the meeting at 4:30 pm there will be a guided tree walk on the grounds of UPS given by  Dr. Romey Haberle.

Connect Tacoma – Safe Streets and Sidewalks Levy
“Investing in Tacoma’s Streets, Sidewalks and Safety” Proposition 1, August 4, Ballot Measure
This Levy is a proposed 10-year funding measure focused on improving transportation safety; maintain streets, and expanding access across our community.
